AIS joins Huawei to Partnership 5G

September 26, 2019: Mr. Somchai Lertsutiwong, Chief Executive Officer, Advanced Info Service Public Company Limited (AIS) and Dr. Virach Aphimeteetamrong, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Intouch Holdings Plc joins Mr. James Wu, President of Huawei Southeast Asia, to sign Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for collaboration on the innovation of 5G network technologies and services.

This MOU sets forth the framework of joint activities between AIS and Huawei in 5G which will be centered on new experience-oriented services such as eMBB (Enhanced Mobile Broadband), URLLC (Ultra Reliable Low-latency Communications) and eMTC (Enhanced Machine Type Communications). In addition, this MOU further aims to establish the leadership of AIS in 5G services and commitment of AIS in realizing digitalization transformation for the benefits of Thai society.

The two companies are committed to cooperate in the 5G network commercial launch to match Thailand 4.0 industrialization, aiming to maintain AIS leadership as a digital service provider in Thailand. This MOU also sets the ground for advanced joint innovations in 5G technology particularly 5G use cases that apply the necessities of various industries, and fulfil the growing market expectations in the new digital era.
