Restructuring of Major Shareholders: Intouch Holdings Public Company Limited and Gulf Energy Development Public Company Limited have announced a merger to restructure their shareholding. The objective is to simplify the shareholding structure and integrate the expertise and resources of both companies to enhance business expansion opportunities and generate sustainable returns for shareholders. This restructuring is not intended to acquire or change control of ADVANC in any way.

Issued Thailand’s first Sustainability Bond in the telecommunications industry, comprising five tranches offered to institutional and retail investors. The bond, rated AAA (tha), was fully subscribed, raising THB 25 billion. The proceeds will be used to refinance existing investments in sustainability-related projects, such as 5G network expansion and energy efficiency improvements.

Partnered with Oracle, a global cloud infrastructure provider, to enhance AIS Cloud’s capabilities to a Hyperscale Cloud level while ensuring compliance with Thailand’s data residency regulations (Sovereign Cloud). This collaboration enables enterprise customers to seamlessly access hyperscale cloud services, accelerating their digital transformation.

Acquired Triple T Broadband Public Company Limited and a 19% stake in Jasmin Broadband Internet Infrastructure Fund (JASIF). The merger was completed on November 15, 2023, placing AIS as a leader in fixed broadband internet service with 4.7 million subscribers nationwide and the network access to over 13.3 million households.

Transferred a 15-year license in the 700 MHz frequency band (2x5 MHz) from National Telecom Public Company Limited (NT) in October 2023. This license was granted since 2021 and shall expire on March 31, 2036. The 700 MHz will enable AIS expansion of the 5G network to efficiently cover suburban areas and in high-rise buildings, and to increase network capacity to accommodate the genuine growth of 5G usages.

Entered into contractual agreements with National Telecom Public Company Limited (NT) for a network equipment rental on NT’s 700 MHz spectrum to NT by constructing a total number of 13,500 base stations across the country. AWN, AIS’ subsidiary, is also obliged to provide roaming service for NT for 13 years in exchange for the rental and roaming fees from NT as specified in the contract.

Received Microsoft Best Partner of the Year 2023 award for the second consecutive year and was the only award recipient in Thailand. Microsoft presented the award to its world-class partners that successfully delivered distinguish innovative services based on Microsoft technologies to customers. The award was selected from Microsoft’s 3,900 partners in over 100 countries across the world.

Entered into a cooperative agreement with the Federation of Thai Industries with the goal to support the operations of small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises to develop new capabilities, reduce operating cost, and enhance efficiency of production processes and machinery. This encompasses the areas of precision enhancement, analytics, measurements, and monitoring using IoT technology enhanced with AIS 5G Manufacturing Platform solutions on the Paragon Platform.

Signed an MOU between AIS and PTTGC to jointly build model organizations committed to conducting business sustainably. The goals would be achieved through the intelligence network capabilities coupled with green technological solutions to tackle environmental issues in a holistic manner. This is to mutually grow the business sustainably along with sustaining the environment and society as good corporate citizens.

Joined forces with Gulf and Singtel to push forward the construction of a 20MW-data Center in Samut Prakan under a joint venture company named GSA Data Center Co.,Ltd (GSA). The new data center is designed to use clean energy, efficiently managed energy, and feature a data storage system with the highest security to address the needs of corporate clients and cloud service providers both locally and overseas. It is scheduled to begin operating commercially in 2025.

Signed an MOU with NCS Telco+ to support digital transformation in Thailand. For its part, NCS supported AIS’ digital transformation efforts through synergistic collaboration in such technologies as 5G, IoT, Cloud, and Cyber Security which complemented AIS’ strengths as the leader in the country’s digital infrastructure and enhanced the Company’s capabilities to support organizations in Thailand to materialize their commitments toward digital transformation.

Entered into a strategic collaboration agreement with ZTE to build an advanced 5G network through the A-Z Center to elevate the Company to an intelligent telecommunications organization. The objectives were to raise quality and deliver excellent service experience to customers. The agreement also aimed to develop innovations to put Thailand at the forefront of the digital economy through cooperation in three areas: 1) developing 5G innovations in infrastructure and solutions, 2) upgrading 5G network to an intelligent digital network through big data processing and AI, and 3) expanding 5G capabilities to elevate the industrial sector.

Purchased shares in three startups from Intouch to enhance AIS’ business potential in providing digital services to customers. This helped expand and consolidated AIS’ core business in line with the Company’s business direction to become a digital life service provider.

Established a subsidiary, AIS DC Venture Co.,Ltd, and entered into a joint development agreement of a data center business with Gulf Energy Development Public Company (GULF) and Singapore Telecommunications Limited (Singtel) to keep pace with growth and accommodate the needs for digital infrastructure in Thailand.

Joined hands with SCG and Huawei as well as incorporated the expertise of the two partners, Yutong and Waytous, to develop an unmanned system for logistics applications over an intelligent 5G network (private network) to operate electric engine trucks transporting raw materials to the factories in the SCG industrial estate in Saraburi according to the route planning. The move aligned with the efforts to develop future industry using digital technologies along with contributing to environmental sustainability.

Launched AIS CloudX, an intelligent cloud ecosystem, that allows businesses to develop cloud infrastructure as well as applications and solutions requiring high-speed processing for mission critical tasks and those demanding low latency. The Company also teamed with VMware as Southeast Asia’s first provider of a sovereign cloud service to ensure maximum security standards while reducing costs and complexity in system design. The service enables the business sector to achieve digital transformation in pursuit of potential enhancement and business agility and to cope with unpredictable changes that may arise.

Granted licenses in the 700 MHz frequency band (2X10 MHz and 2X5 MHz in width) from NBTC in January 2021, and April 2021, respectively for a term of 15 years. The 700 MHz is the standard frequency range for a low-band 5G marked with better coverage, enabling AIS to expand its 5G network to cover wide areas.

Obtained a license in the 26 GHz frequency band (1200 MHz in width) in February 2021 for a 15-year term. This millimeter-wave band meets the capacity requirements of the 5G network and allows for a high speed data transfer rate of gigabits per second (Gbps), which is vital for various applications that require high-speed and stable data rates with a low latency of 1 millisecond.

Partnered with Microsoft (Thailand) Limited to develop and provide cloud services in three key areas: 1. Driving digital solutions by promoting the use of cloud service solution 2. Upgrading AIS employees’ digital skills by equipping them with Microsoft’s in-depth digital technology skills, and 3. Developing innovations for businesses, using efficient solutions appropriate for each type of business.

Appointed as an official distributor of Disney + Hotstar streaming service which has gained wide acceptance in Thailand, Asia, and worldwide to deliver class-above entertainment experience encompassing a diverse range of content for audiences of all ages in Thailand.

Joined forces in a joint venture deal with Siam Commercial Bank to establish AISCB to offer digital financial services via online platforms, providing customers with easier access to financial services with AIS holding a 50% stake worth 300 million Baht in the new venture.

Won the 5G auction across the spectrum including low-band: 700 MHz (2X5 MHz), mid-band: 2600 MHz (100 MHz), and high-band: 26 GHz (1200 MHz). 5G NSA licensed service (non-standalone) was launched in February 2020 nationwide in the 2600 MHz frequency band. 5G SA (standalone) service that is not dependent on an existing 4G network was subsequently introduced in July 2020.

Invested in the Singapore-based Digital Gaming International PTE in a joint venture with Singapore Telecommunications Ltd. and SK Telecom Co.,Ltd. of South Korea, each holding a stake of 33.33% worth 10,000,000 Singapore Dollars (226,500,000 Baht) to provide a gaming content platform, using AI technology and access to e-sports contents.

Established Saha Advanced Network Co.,Ltd (SAN), a joint venture with Saha Pathana Inter-Holding Public Company Limited, with a stake of 70% valued at 21 million Baht. The joint venture is designed to provide a fiber optic network and ICT infrastructure to enhance the operational efficiency of businesses in SPI Industrial Park, spanning 7,255 rais of land. A 5G solution will also be incorporated to maximize operational efficiency.

up LearnDi Company Limited (LDI), a 99.99% subsidiary of AIS with a capital investment of 1,000,000 Baht to provide training and seminar service through online and e-learning platform.

Launched AIS Insurance Service, an online insurance service authorized by the Office of the Insurance Commission that allows customers to determine travel information and coverage duration.

Revised and refined the strategic business plan of CS Loxinfo and renamed it CSL underlining the 3Ss strategy: 1. Data Center & Cloud Solutions, 2. Management Service, and 3. System Integration to provide upstream to downstream services for enterprise business operation.

Granted a license in the 700 MHz frequency band (2X10 MHz in width) from the National Broadcasting and Telecommunication Commission (NBTC) for a term of 15 years from the date of obtaining the license, starting in 2021.

AIS announced its vision to become the Digital Platform for Thais and declared the readiness of IoT (Internet of Things) network as well as the uplift of mobile network to deliver 1 Gbps speed under brand NEXT G. Also, focusing on growing business with partners, AIS announced its recent developments in enhancing three platforms i.e.

1. AIS IoT Alliance Program or AIAP, a collaboration between members of all parties aiming to jointly create the substantial development of the IoT Solution/Business Model and broaden benefits to the public sector
2. The Play 365, a video platform offering opportunities for Thai artists to introduce their creative works without a label.
3. AIS IMAX VR, a virtual reality content platform for VR content developers to create and submit their content to work with AIS.

AIS partnered with Rabbit LINE Pay enhancing e-Money platform to drive Thailand towards cashless society. The joint venture, with aspiration to make Rabbit LINE Pay become no. 1 mobile payment in Thailand, consisted of three non-bank players which are 1) AIS, the no. 1 mobile operator 2) LINE, the no. 1 mobile messenger and 3) Rabbit, the no. 1 micropayment and mass transit.

Network Innovation

Officially signed a roaming agreement with TOT on 2x15 MHz of 2100MHz spectrum, serving the proliferation of 4G and 3G data usage.

Acquired 2x5 MHz of 1800MHz spectrum license enabling AIS to be the operator holding the largest bandwidth in the industry. With the acquired spectrum, AIS has contiguous 2x20 MHz of 1800MHz, resulting in 15-30% speed increase for 4G data users.

Expanded AIS NEXT G network and feature, a the combination of AIS 4G ADVANCED and AIS SUPER WiFi technology, to be compatible with both Android and iOS. NEXT G network can render 1 Gbps of mobile speed, the fastest in the industry.

Collaborated with Nokia, Huawei, and ZTE to test 5G technology on 26.5-27.5GHz spectrum. The objective of the collaboration is to encourage business sector to get accustomed to and see the benefits of 5G technology, during which commercial use cases are being developed.

Expanded end-to-end NB-IoT network and platform across the country by collaborating with partners from various industries such as Property Perfect and Samsung to develop Smart Home solutions as well as with Thammasat University to launch public bicycle service “Mobike” and to provide university’s area & resource management system.

Products and Services to Meet Digital Lifestyle

Launched “NU Mobile”, a new fully-online SIM, to serve digital users. SIM purchase and identification as well as payment are all conducted online. NU Mobile emphasizes on convenience, easiness, and worry-free to enhance full service digitization without relying on physical channels.

Expanded into potential growth areas of enterprise by acquiring CS Loxinfo (CSL) which will strengthen AIS’s position in the enterprise market by leveraging customer base, product and service, and staff expertise to serve end-to-end digital solutions such as cloud service, data center, managed service including consultancy for enterprise customers for 24 hours.

Invested in Rabbit LINE Pay (RLP) joint venture, holding 33.33% of equity stake, to provide a domestic mobile payment platform for both AIS and general consumers. AIS also collaborated with Singtel to launch a cross-border mobile wallet platform “VIA” with an aim to facilitate RLP users in purchasing goods and services from the participating stores in Singapore without the need of money exchange.

Expanded distribution channels targeting specific customer segments by collaborating with leading modern trade and IT partners such as Tesco Lotus and Jaymart. This provides customer access to AIS’s products and services of both mobile and fixed broadband while enhancing brand awareness through partners’ branches across the country.

AIS launched video-on-demand packages on both mobile platform via AIS PLAY application and fixed platform via AIS PLAYBOX after partnering with HBO, FOX, NBA, Warner, etc. This is to correctly respond to current customer behavior and create differentiation for AIS on the path to fully become that Digital Life Service Provider.

AIS launched “AIS NEXT G”, the first high-speed network of 1Gbps in ASEAN by collaborating with KT Telecom using the Multipath TCP technology to combine AIS 4G ADVANCED and AIS SUPER WiFi.

AIS unveiled its vision and policies for the “AIS Business Cloud 2017”, which provides a Business Cloud service through End-to-End single services. AIS also announced its readiness to collaborate with every business wanting to create its own Cloud system. AIS offers support through consultancies, planning and operations as well as through the integrated Cloud service known as Managed Service with world-class effectiveness and security standards alongside a team of professionals.

AIS was awarded “Thailand’s Fastest Mobile Network” for the third year, consecutively (2015 – 2017), from OOKLA, a global speed test provider. The award reflects our pride in providing the fastest and widest AIS 4G ADVANCED network for the Thai people.

Advanced Wireless Network Limited Company (AWN), an AIS subsidiary, officially launched 4G Advanced Service accessible in 42 provinces. After receiving a license to operate on 1800 MHz spectrum in December 2015, AWN was the first operator in Thailand to deploy LTE Advanced technology.

AIS announced 2016 investment of 40 billion baht for the expansion of 4G and 3G network, Fibre internet service and AIS shops.

AIS introduced the world's first commercial 4.5G network. Through a strategic alliance with Huawei, the network capability offers a maximum speed of 550 megabytes per second, and plans for the speed of one gigabyte per second. The 4.5G network enables customers to view video in higher resolutions and enjoy future applications such as Virtual Reality.

All AIS Data Center received ISO 27001:2013 - a certification in Information Security Management System from Bureau Veritas Certification (Thailand) Company Limited. This ISO certification reassures AIS safety standard on data security together with building construction friendly to the environment.

AIS unveiled "Absolutely from Our Hearts, Absolute No.1 in Service," an extension of "AIS Live 360" campaign previously launched. The extended campaign utilized digital technology for new service offerings catered to fulfill customers’ different lifestyles; increased service channels on social media; introduced "Ask Aunjai Service," a virtual agent capable of answering customer inquiry 24 hours on website; employed over 5,000 experienced staff for customer service; and delivered an array of privileges to meet customers' expectation 360 degrees.

AIS announced the achievement of 4G network coverage in all 77 provinces countrywide after the first launch in 42 provinces in January.

AIS in coordination with partner, developed the VoLTE technology in AIS Lava smart phones. Often found in expensive smart phones, VoLTE is made available by AIS for middle-range and affordable smart phones. VoLTE running on 4G offers high-quality sound in full HD with low noise, as well as faster and more reliable connection.

AWN, an AIS subsidiary, participated in the license auction on 900 MHz spectrum and won the license for the bandwidth of 895-905 MHz along with 940-950 MHz, a combined bandwidth of 2x10 MHz spectrum, for the winning bid of 75,654 million baht. AWN received the 15-year license of 900 MHz spectrum starting July 1, 2015.

AIS Fibre introduced Thailand's first prepaid internet broadband service for dormitories and apartments, offering 100% fiber optic to university-student and apartment rental segment.

AIS introduced SIM2FLY, a new roaming SIM designed exclusively for eight popular countries in Southeast Asia including Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Laos, Malaysia and India at starting price of 399 baht. Presently, SIM2FLY has expanded its roaming service to cover Europe, North America and more than 50 countries around the world.

AIS announced the new business “AIS Business Cloud” and the vision to enhance Thailand’s business sector toward becoming the Digital Enterprise. With an aim to be the leading Business Cloud service provider in Thailand, AIS collaborates with the global partners in Cloud service such as Microsoft, VMware NSX, NetApp and Check Point.

AIS and National Electronics and Computer Technology Center (NECTEC) launch a joint project “ICT System and Integrated Alternative Energy for Communities along the Border” under the patronage of H.R.H. Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. The project is an initiative to provide hybrid electricity generated from hydropower and solar cell equipped with a remote monitoring system for electricity use of the learning center of Border Patrol Police located at Baan Kirilorm, Prachuap Kirikhan province.

AIS 4G network took the lead in providing the largest coverage of 4G roaming service covering 74 countries through partnership with 121 mobile networks in every continent.

AIS provided mobile broadcasting and rerun of Rio 2016 Olympic Games via “AIS PLAY”. This is the first in Asian to provide Thai consumers access to 12 Oympic channels with HD quality through mobile connectivity.

AIS won the exclusive rights to live broadcast and replay of Paralympics Games 2016, held in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. The content was offered free as service to AIS customers via AIS Play mobile application and AIS Playbox set-top box.

AIS and DTAC (Total Access Communication Public Limited Company) co-launched VoLTE service across the two networks for the first time in Thailand and ASEAN. Prepaid and postpaid customers of AIS and DTAC can access VoLTE service for 4G video and voice call featuring full HD sound quality available in all 4G service areas nationwide.

Advanced Wireless Network Company Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of AIS, was officially awarded the 1800MHz license from the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC)

31 March 2015 AIS launched its “AIS SUPER WiFi” services by offering high-speed wireless internet services at the maximum speed of 650Mbps, which is faster than 4G.

27 April 2015 AIS launched the “AIS Fibre” broadband home internet service with the 1 Gbps speed as the first and only full-scale PURE Fibre service provider.

14 May 2015 AIS launched its “AIS LIVE 360°” campaign by offering special privileges to our customers in the form of discounts at over 12,000 leading brand name stores nationwide for 365 days.

29 July 2015 AIS opened its fifth annual “AIS the StartUP” conference. AIS together with our Thai and International partners select the most innovative works and assist them in accessing our customers around the region.

22 September 2015 AIS launched its first 4G mobile phone with the release of its “AG SUPER COMBO LAVA A1” at the price of only 4,590 Baht in order to provide more accessibilities to our customers in all income brackets.
