AIS continues to mark number 1 market share with 500k net additions in 3Q16, totaling 39.9 mn subs, aiming to provide digital life for Thais

8 November 2016: In 3Q16, AIS posted 2.2% service revenue growth when compared to last year, totaling Bt30,626mn. Total subscribers was 39.9 million, maintaining number 1 market share in both revenue and subscribers with aim to provide digital life for Thais.

The stable growth of AIS in this quarter was contributed by higher number of subscribers, together with continued increase of internet usage. Non-voice revenue increased by 18% from last year, following the increasing trend of data usage to 3 GB/month. It was supported by popularity of social media and video content, as well as better customer perception on network quality following 4G coverage expansion. Attractive price packages and special handset promotions also resulted in an increase of total subscribers to 39.9 million and net addition of 500,000 sub, which is the highest in 12 months.

In this quarter, fixed broadband business, AIS Fibre, showed strong improvement with 6 times revenue growth from last year. Net addition per month was 4 times higher than last year, totaling 195,000 subscribers in 3Q16. The service covers 3 million homepass in 28 provinces, and the starting price is 590 Baht for 20/7 Mbps speed with 10% discount for AIS Postpaid customers.
