AIS and Bridge Alliance announce collaboration with the Global M2M Association and to demonstrate the world's first alliance-to-alliance Multi-Domestic Service driving growth in M2M and IoT markets at the Mobile World Congress 2016 in Barcelona

19 February 2016: AIS emphasize its leadership in digital innovation in Thailand and move forward to the global market of Internet of Things (IoT) and Machine-to-Machine (M2M) services by advancing its capability in the Multi-Domestic Service which will enable easy deployment of IoT and M2M services at the global scale by AIS’s enterprise customers. As a member of Bridge Alliance (a partnership of 35 leading mobile operators in Asia-Pacific, Middle East, and Africa), AIS jointly announce collaboration between Bridge Alliance and the Global M2M Association (GMA: a M2M service cooperation agreement between leading mobile operators which covers 42 markets across Europe, North America, Africa and Asia) in providing their advanced Multi-Domestic Service, a single global connectivity management platform including an eUICC SIM, which can be used in 77 markets throughout their combined footprints.

The Multi-Domestic Service is a global solution to address the local opportunities for higher bandwidth applications and new business models. It significantly reduces barriers for enterprises, keeping total cost of ownership low while maximizing quality of service. The Multi-Domestic Service is the world’s first alliance-to-alliance remote provision.

The new partnership between Bridge Alliance and GMA puts in place robust and secure technical capabilities to simplify multi-network M2M and IoT deployment for multinational customers in the retail, healthcare, consumer electronics, transportation, automotive and energy sectors on a worldwide scale. The partnership gives our joint global customers a strategic advantage by taking out complexity and reducing time-to-market. There will be demonstration of the solution at the Mobile World Congress 2016, GSMA Innovation City, Stand A11 in Hall 3 in Barcelona during 22-25 February.

Somchai Lertsutiwong, Chief Executive Office of AIS, says: “AIS is proud to jointly announce this global-scale collaboration which brings Thailand to the global level by providing the robust and secure platform of the Multi-Domestic Service including an eUICC SIM / Embedded SIM. This capability strengthens AIS’s M2M/IoT Ecosystem and will help our multinational customers to simplify the global deployment, management and operations of their connected products.”
