AIS highlights world class innovation and technology to become a Cognitive Telco CIO wins Top CIO Award for technology management at CIO75 ASEAN

8 December 2021: AIS remains focused on its goal of leadership as a Digital Life Service Provider, with the intent of developing a network having the power to connect different sectors and efficiently drive growth with digital technology. Senior AIS executive, Sanjay Andrew Thomas, the company’s Chief Information Technology Officer (CIO), has been awarded Top CIO at CIO75 ASEAN, for excellence as a technology executive at a Thai company in the telecom sector. He has delivered outstanding performance in driving the company to innovate for growth of its business in various aspects. The Top CIO award reflects AIS’ dedication in exploiting technology to upgrade and strengthen the nation’s digital infrastructure.

The CIO75 ASEAN Top CIO Award is a measure of achievement for senior executives in the tech sector from companies and organisations in the Southeast Asian region including Hong Kong, organized by International Data Group (IDG), a leading global technology consultant from Australia. The criteria measure leadership in promoting tech to enhance the organization’s internal teamwork, as well as implementing tech innovations to restructure business for growth. The winner is chosen from over 175 CIOs in leading companies across Southeast Asia and in Hong Kong.

Mr. Thomas also has the key role of working with a range of partners to unlock the potential of various technological fields, which has given AIS leadership in digital technology. The award reflects AIS’ mission and goals to upgrade digital infrastructure for the maximum benefit of all sectors in the country.
