Operating result Advanced Info Service Public Company Limited (the Company) would like to submit the reviewed consolidated and company financial statements for 1Q12. In addition, the Company would like to clarify the reasons of a difference in net profit, which increased by more than 20% from last year as follows; In 1Q12, net profit was Baht 8,926 million, increased 42% year on year (y-o-y) from Baht 6,269 million in 1Q11. The key growth drivers were the increase in sale and service revenues as well as lower amount of network amortization, financial costs, and income tax expense. In addition, there is no more recording of goodwill impairment starting this quarter onward. Total revenue grew 13% y-o-y to Baht 35,178 million in 1Q12 from Baht 31,148 million in 1Q11 due to strong growth in both service and sale revenues. Service revenue rose 11% from Baht 27,587 million to Baht 30,541 million in 1Q12, as a result of rising in call usage and customers' popularity in mobile internet. Sales revenue rose to Baht 4,636 million, an increase of 30% y-o-y due to higher sales of smartphones. Network amortization in 1Q12 decreased 11% y-o-y to Bath 3,867 million from Baht 4,365 million in 1Q11, contributing to flat cost of service. Selling and administrative expenses increased slightly 1.4% y-o-y to Baht 2,556 million in 1Q12. A decrease of financial costs and income tax expense was another key factor that drive net profit to grow more than 20%. Financial costs was Baht 287 million, dropped 33% from Baht 431 million in 1Q11 due to debt repayment. Income tax expense in 1Q12 declined 6.6% to Baht 2,701 million from Baht 2,892 million in 1Q11, in-line with government's tax reduction policy.
