(The Company) would like to submit its second quarter reviewed financial statement ended June 30, 2000 and 1999. Concurrently, the Company would like to clarify the operational result of this second quarter that the Company's net income in the second quarter of 2000 was Baht 2,302 Million while the year 1999 was Baht 786 Million or an increase by 193% because; 1. The Company's total revenue increased from the second quarter of 1999 by Baht 2,998 Million or 73% because; - The Company's subscribers increased from 1,063,340 at the end of second quarter 1999 to 1,481,267 at the end of second quarter 2000 resulting in the increase in Company's revenue from services and equipment rental by Baht 1,776 Million or 45%. - The Company had Baht 1,032 Million compensation income from purchase tax and Value Added Tax including interest received from Telephone Organization of Thailand (TOT). - The Company had net gain on exchange by Baht 175 Million in the second quarter of 2000 while no such revenue in the second quarter of 1999. 2. The Company's total expenses increased from the second quarter of 1999 by Baht 810 Million or 25% due to the increase in cost of services and equipment. This increase was mainly due to the increase in the Company's subscriber base. 3. The Company's income tax increased by Baht 325 Million from the second quarter of 1999 to Baht 1,069 Million in the second quarter of 2000. This increase due to the increase in the Company's income before tax of Baht 2,260 Million. .
