5.2.2 Possible impact that may happen to the general business operation The mentioned-above impact may cause the service for customers faulty or impossible, and it will bring about dissatisfaction to the service users. 5.2.3 Possible impact from external factors If outside agencies are not prepared to the Y2K problem, it may have problems as follows: 5.2.3.1 Banking system may not be able to allow its customers to pay for charges through the banks or service counter. 5.2.3.2 Network system of the Telephone Organization of Thailand may not allow the customer to telephone the 152 center. 5.2.3.3 Computer system of the Internet Service Provider (ISF) may not allow access to the home page of www.phonelink.net. 5.2.3.4 The information system of Telerate may cause the information received incorrect. 5.2.3.5 Paging system of Singapore Telecom may not be able to send roaming messages crossing to Singapore. 5.3 Plan for solving the problem 5.3.1 Guidelines and methods for solving the problem 5.3.1.1 Main work system of computer 5.3.1.1.1 Upgrading hardware and Firmware of the BAS and 152 systems. 5.3.1.1.2 Upgrading operating system (OS) of the BAS and 152 systems. 5.3.1.1.3 Upgrading database management of the BAS system. 5.3.1.1.4 Revising applications such as -Revising the scheduled page -Developing the StockALERT again -Revising the value of expiry date for the closing service for a repair of hardware -Revising the prorate computation 5.3.1.2 Telephone Exchange Cabinet system Upgrading the software of the telephone exchange cabinet. 5.3.1.3 Office system Surveying of office equipment in parts that may have impact from the Y2K. 5.3.1.4 External agencies Contacting and coordinating with external agencies to check for preparation of readiness to support the Y2K problem of such agencies. 5.3.2 Phases in solving the problem 5.3.2.1 Preliminary phase is an appointment of a working committee consisting of seven persons taking responsibility for the Y2K problem. 5.3.2.2 Inventory analysis phase is a collection of all items involving the Y2K. 5.3.2.3 Impact analysis phase by studying the impact results on all kinds of equipment. 5.3.2.4 Correction phase. 5.3.2.5 Testing phase. 5.3.2.6 Implementation phase. The telephone exchange system has been given a guarantee letter by its manufacturer stating that it can solve the Y2K problem adequately. For the part required correction now is the adjustment of the PCs and their application, which expected to be completed by December 1998. The Company is confident that every system of the Company can solve the Y2K problem sufficiently. 6. Verification Data We have already checked all the text and data present in this report form and hereby certify that they are correct and completed.
