Advanced Info Services Plc (ADVANC) clarified a published report regarding the expansion of its fibre optic networks as approved by the Telephone Organization of Thailand (TOT). ADVANC reported in the document submitted to the Stock Exchange of Thailand that the investment is aimed at expanding its fibre optic networks. This will improve and expand the base station, exchange station and network for the company's mobile phone services, both analog and digital systems. The fibre optic is part of the transmission equipment for the existing base station and will also serve the new base station system (Micro Cells). The micro cell system has been installed to upgrade the company's services and has already been approved by the TOT in accordance with the existing contract. The fund used in the investment will be from the company's capital increase, as decided at the board meeting on August 11, 1994.
