Operating result Advanced Info Service Public Company Limited (the Company) would like to submit the reviewed consolidated and company financial statements for 2Q12. In addition, the Company would like to clarify the reasons of a difference in net profit, which increased by more than 20% from last year as follows; In 2Q12, net profit was Baht 8,713 million, increased 43% year on year (y-o-y) from Baht 6,116 million in 2Q11. For the first 6-month period of 2012, net profit was Baht 17,639 million, an increase of 42% y-o-y from Baht 12,385 million in the same period of 2011. The key growth drivers were the increase of service and sale revenues as well as the lower amortization, finance costs and income tax expense. In addition, there is no goodwill impairment in 2Q12, comparing to Baht 386 million goodwill impairment in 2Q11. Total revenue grew 11% y-o-y to Baht 34,488 million in 2Q12 from Baht 31,110 million in 2Q11 due to growth in both service and sale revenues. The growth was driven by higher voice usage together with strong demand for mobile data connectivity along with increased use of smart devices and social networking platforms. Network amortization decreased 14% y-o-y from Bath 4,314 million in 2Q11 to Baht 3,699 million in 2Q12, resulted in lower cost of service. Selling and administrative expenses increased 12% y-o-y to Baht 2,940 million due to higher marketing expense and staff cost. Lower finance costs and income tax expense was another key factor that drives net profit to grow more than 20%. Finance costs was Baht 292 million and decreased 34% y-o-y from Baht 444 million in 2Q11 due to debt repayment in 2011. Income tax expense in 2Q12 declined 5.5% to Baht 2,604 million from Baht 2,755 million in 2Q11, following government's tax reduction policy.
