("the Company") would like to submit the audited financial statements for the year ended December 31, 2000 and 1999. In addition, the Company would like to clarify the increase in net pofit of Baht 3,848 Million or 140% from Baht 2,750 Million in the year 1999 to Baht 6,598 Million in the year 2000, as follows: 1. The increase in consolidated revenue from services and equipment rental from Baht 18,328 Million in 1999 to Baht 26,197 Million in 2000 or an increase of Baht 7,869 Million or 42.94% was due to the increase in subscribers base from 1,230,000 in 1999 to 1,977,300 in 2000 or an increase of 60.76%, while the consolidated cost of services and equipment rentals increased only Baht 3,555 Million or 31.23%. 2. The increase in consolidated sales from Baht 6,886 Million in 1999 to Baht 10,762 Million in 2000 or an increase of 56.29% was mainly due to an increase in sales of mobile phones from 516,601 units in 1999 to 1,006,684 units in 2000 or an increase of 94.80%, while the consolidated cost of sales increased from Baht 4,709 Million in 1999 to Baht 7,472 Million in 2000. 3. The Company had compensation income which is an Extra-non-recurring item from the VAT refunded from the Telephone Organization of Thailand (TOT) amounting to Baht 1,032 Million. This is the VAT on service charges that Company absorbed for their customers according to the TOT's request.In 1998, TOT was ordered, in arbitration, to compensate an operator for such VAT.
